Pokerwork hand mirror
This is a hand mirror with pokerwork (pyrography) depicting a yellow flower and green leaves.
Pokerwork is done by burning the pattern onto wood with an implement such as a poker, and then hand painting it.
The mirror is slim with an oval shaped looking glass with a viewing surface 6 inches long. It is clear with only minor tarnishing around the edges.
It has been well-used during its 100-year life and has acquired a charming shabby chic vintage look, with gentle discolouration of the wood and paint in places.
