Oak and silver ice bucket
This is a biscuit barrel or ice bucket, circa 1930, made of oak with silver plate lid, escutcheon and side handles. The silver plate rim has the 'EPNS' stamp of authenticity.
The outside has a decorative bobbin trim running alongside the sturdy handles. Inside, the bucket is lined with the original ceramic container which is in perfect condition.
As can be seen in the photographs, there are some superficial signs of wear commensurate with age, including a small split at the bottom, but these do not compromise the integrity of the barrel. It is a solid and handsome piece that is fit for purpose.
