Crescent moon mirror
A continental, late 19th century - early 20th century mirror in the Black Forest style. It is hard to do this mirror justice with words, and even photographs don't quite capture the masterful and intricate carving that makes it so unique.
The crescent moon is held by palm fronds on the right hand side and the top. Broad leaved foliage frames the bottom and the left hand side.
The mirror itself is bevelled and in near perfect condition, retaining its full reflective quality, with only slight frosting on the bottom rim. The tip of one of the top leaves is missing but is hard to spot amidst the profusion of otherwise perfect foliage.
At the back it has a hook so it can be hung on a wall, as well as a stand so that it can be used as a table top mirror.
