Art Deco letter rack
A neat wall-mounted letter rack/stationary holder that is also a newspaper or magazine rack. With a wooden back and brass holders, trimmed by two feet at the bottom and a strip on top in darker, turned wood, this is truly an Art Nouveau piece, circa 1930. It has embossed roses reminiscent of the Rennie Mackintosh rose, and the words "Lettres" and "Journaux" on the front, for Letters and Newspapers.
It was in need of a little TLC when we acquired it, with the Newspaper part requiring a tighter fix to the back board. We've also secured the rear of the holder which was slightly peeling. It is now strong and fit for purpose while retaining the charm of its great age.
It has two hooks at the back to hang it on a wall.
