19th century mahogany tea caddy
Stunning sarcophagus shaped mahogany tea caddy from the 19th century. It has two lidded compartments to store tea, and a mixing glass in the middle. The glass is a more recent addition.
The lid is lined with what seems to be the original paper lining, which has discoloured from many years of use but is in otherwise good condition.
The outside of the caddy has no chips or cracks. It boasts a rich ruddy mahogany patina that has gently aged.
What really adds to the value of this antique piece is the fact that it comes with its original key that works perfectly.
